How to write times
The start and end boxes accept "90" (90 seconds), "1:30", "1:30.25" and "00:01:30,250". Time codes copied straight out of a subtitle file work as they are.
Does trimming reduce quality?
Choose WAV and the cut is lossless. MP3, M4A and OGG are re-encoded, so there is a theoretical loss, but at 192 kbps or higher it is very hard to hear. The default output matches your input when it is MP3, and is M4A otherwise.

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The cut runs in your browser through a WebAssembly build of ffmpeg. Once the page has loaded you can disconnect from the network and it still works, which makes it safe for sensitive recordings.
Which formats are supported?
MP3, M4A (AAC), WAV, OGG, FLAC, AAC, WMA and Opus, plus video containers such as MP4 and MOV when you only want the audio. Export to MP3, M4A, WAV or OGG.
Is there a file-size limit?
There is no server-side limit — the ceiling is your browser memory, and files up to roughly 500 MB work. Above 100 MB the waveform is skipped automatically and you cut by typing times instead.
